L'évolution historique et les processus de mondialisation culturelle et économique ont fait émerger des risques importants et alarmants à l'échelle planétaire : des violences urbaines et des actes de vandalisme aux changements climatiques et à la multiplication des catastrophes naturelles, en passant par un creusement considérable des inégalités économiques et sociales. Aujourd'hui, l'humanité tout entière est confrontée à des défis majeurs qui exigent une transformation radicale des espaces habités. « Villes sous pression » illustre un nouveau paradigme de conception, un système d'intervention ouvert visant à instaurer un équilibre dynamique en constante renégociation. Ce projet imagine et définit de nouveaux environnements urbains qui abandonnent un schéma de conception rigide au profit de mécanismes évolutifs capables d'intégrer la transition durable en cours, afin de garantir un avenir résilient et pacifique.

Today, humanity as a whole is facing epochal challenges that require a radical metamorphosis of inhabited spaces. Cities Under Pressure illustrates a new design paradigm, an open intervention system that seeks the establishment of a dynamic equilibrium that is continuously renegotiated. Cities Under Pressure imagines and defines new urban environments that abandon a rigid design scheme in favor of growing evolutionary mechanisms capable of embodying the ongoing sustainable transition, so as to guarantee a resilient and peaceful future.
